About 100 members and guests attended a fund-raising quiz and meal evening at Headingley Golf Club.
The money will be presented to the President’s charity “Think Like a Pony”, a local Bramhope, centre which provides horse therapy to children facing severe challenges in their lives, with quite remarkable results.
“I have seen Think Like a Pony change the lives of some of the hardest to reach children in our community – children who are at high risk of depression, self-harm and suicide.” – Annie Mandelstam, Child Clinical Psychologist.
The centre is now oversubscribed and do not have the space or facilities to help all the children who badly need our help. They say that every year, they are forced to turn away up to 60 children simply because they do not have room for them. To continue our work, they need a purpose-built center that will allow the vulnerable children on our waiting list to finally access the Think Like a Pony Youth Development Programme. The club’s donations will go towards the building of a new centre.
Our thanks go to all those who attended and contributed raffle prizes in aid of this very worthwhile cause.
