“Think like a Pony” is the Rotary Club of Headingley’s Presidential charity for the year. Based in Cookridge, the charity works with children with mental health, social and emotional difficulties. It provides a safe space for all young people to build relationships with the ponies. The charity has been very successful in empowering children to become more confident, communicative and willing to learn…thus changing their lives for the better. Currently it is raising money for a purpose-built, accessible centre to future-proof the services it provides.
The concert will be held at Lidgett Park Methodist Church, Lidgett Place, Roundhay LS8 1HG on Friday 27th March at 7.30 p.m. Admission £8.00 – available on the door or from members of Headingley Rotary. The stars of the show are the Castleford Young Musicians – a concert band and choir, of approximately 50 youngsters between 8-25 years of age. They perform a selection of popular music, show tunes and light classical music and are not charging for their services, so that proceeds for the charity are maximised.
