Charity Bridge Drive Raises over £1000

Our annual Bridge drive took place in St Giles’ Church Hall, Bramhope, on Monday, 13th March.

Seventy two entrants, paying £10 each, spent an enjoyable, if testing, three hours in mental combat, the winners being Hilary Reynolds and Jack Webster, and runners-up Audrey Harrison and Diane Thompson.

The proceeds of £1055 went to the Leeds Weekenders Club, the President’s charity for 2017, providing relief and support for parents with sick or disabled children. During the lunch interval, Liz Sunderland, from the Weekenders, gave a short visual presentation showing  the club at work.

A splendid buffet of sandwiches, sweets and cakes was provided for lunch and tea by friends of the Club,

Finally, the President thanked Nick and Gill Pinches, in particular, Margaret Williams and Audrey Harrison for their excellent work in selling tickets, all who provided cakes and raffle prizes, the ladies of the Club for their work throughout the day and all members who helped to make the event successful.
